FAQ's

QUESTIONS?

What kind of jewelry do you use for piercings?

We use implant-grade titanium—the safest, most recommended metal for new and healed piercings. It’s hypoallergenic, completely nickel-free, and certified for medical use. It’s lightweight, strong, and can even be anodized in fun colors.

Look for these certifications:

  • ASTM F-136
  • ASTM F-67
  • ISO 5832-3
Why is titanium better than other metals?

Titanium is:

  • Nickel-free (no allergic reactions)
  • Strong but lightweight (comfortable for daily wear)
  • Durable (resistant to bending or breaking)
  • Anodizable (can be safely colored without compromising quality)
What piercings do you offer?

We offer a full range of curated ear piercings, including:

  • Lobe (Standard & High)
  • Upper Lobe / Third Lobe
  • Helix
  • Forward Helix
  • Flat
  • Conch
  • Tragus

Also nose and navel.

Whether you're going for a minimalist look or a bold stack—we've got you.

What are flat-back earrings and why do you use them?

Flat-back earrings are designed with a disc that sits flush against the back of the ear. They're:

  • More secure
  • Less likely to snag
  • More comfortable to sleep in
  • Ideal for healing because they reduce irritation and pressure

We use threadless or internally threaded options to ensure maximum safety and comfort.

What kind of needles do you use?

We use single-use, hollow needles for all piercings. These are:

  • Sterile and precise
  • Far less traumatic to the tissue than piercing guns
  • Designed for optimal healing
Do you pierce minors?

Yes, we pierce minors—but there are important requirements:

  • Parent/guardian must be present
  • Photo ID for both the minor and parent/guardian is required
  • Some piercings may be restricted based on age (e.g., no cartilage or nose under a certain age)

NO younger than 6 months of age.

We also ask that if you are bringing a child to be pierced, please do not bring siblings.

Always call ahead if you’re unsure about what's allowed.

Can I bring a friend or my kids?

We get it—it helps to have support! You're welcome to bring a friend, but we ask that you limit guests to one support person. For safety and sanitary reasons, children who are not being pierced cannot be in the procedure room.

What if I’m pregnant or nursing?

Unfortunately, we do not pierce clients who are pregnant or currently nursing. Your body is already doing a lot of healing and adjusting, and we want to make sure your immune system and healing process are fully focused on your little one.

Before & After your Appointment

How should I prepare before my piercing appointment?

Here’s what to do before you come in:

Eat a light snack about 30–60 minutes beforehand to help stabilize your blood sugar.

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before your appointment—they can increase bleeding and sensitivity.

Stay hydrated and come well-rested.

Fill out your consent forms ahead of time, if possible.

Bring valid ID. If you're a minor, you’ll need to bring a parent or guardian with ID for both parties.

Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the piercing area (for example, avoid high-neck tops for a cartilage piercing).packaging (box) and be unworn/undamaged. The refund will be processed within 48 hours once the item is received and verified undamaged. Please contact me if you are dissatisfied in any way. I promise to do what I can to ensure you are happy with your purchase.

What happens during my appointment?

Your piercer (Kristen) will:

  1. Walk you through the process and answer any questions.
  2. Help you choose your jewelry.
  3. Clean and mark the area.
  4. Perform the piercing with a sterile, hollow needle.
  5. Give you clear aftercare instructions.
  6. Provide a care card for reference and schedule a check-in if needed.
What are the aftercare instructions?

Here’s a summary of your post-care:

  • Clean 1–2 times daily with a sterile saline wound wash or piercing-specific solution.
  • Do not touch, twist, or rotate the jewelry—let it heal undisturbed.
  • Avoid submerging in pools, lakes, or hot tubs during healing.
  • Don’t sleep directly on your new piercing.
  • No makeup, harsh cleansers, or skincare near the site until fully healed.
  • Be gentle—no snagging or tugging on clothing or hair.
  • If you experience swelling, redness, or discharge beyond normal healing, reach out.

Everyone will receive a post care package with instructions and products to help you take the best care of your new piercing.

Additional Questions

How long does it take to heal?

Healing times vary depending on placement:

  • Earlobes: 6–8 weeks
  • Cartilage: 4–12 months
  • Nostril: 2–4 months
  • Navel: 6 months–1 year

Consistency is key. Even if itlookshealed, keep up your aftercare to prevent irritation or rejection.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Choose clothing that makes the area being pierced easy to access—think:

  • Button-downs for cartilage or ear piercings
  • Loose, low-cut shirts for chest/neck
  • High-waisted, easy-to-move pants for navel piercings
Can I change the jewelry before it's fully healed?

We strongly recommendwaiting until the full healing period is completebefore switching jewelry. Changing it too soon can lead to irritation, infection, or a piercing closing up entirely.

What’s the pain level like?

Pain is subjective, but most clients say the piercing is over faster than expected—just a sharp pinch. We’ll walk you through the breathing and prep you so you’re calm and ready.

What should I not do after getting pierced?

To avoid irritation or infection:

  • Don’t touch your piercing with unwashed hands
  • Don’t sleep on it (for ear piercings)
  • Don’t apply alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibiotic creams—they delay healing
  • Don’t remove the jewelry before it’s fully healed
Do you offer jewelry upgrades or downsizing?

Yes! We recommendcoming in for a downsize appointmentpartway through healing. Swelling reduces after a few weeks, and downsizing to a shorter post can prevent irritation, snags, or piercing bumps. We'll guide you on when to come in.
